Indiana fugitive captured in Pueblo after 6 years on the run
U.S. Marshals apprehended an out-of-state fugitive in Pueblo on Monday on suspicion of failuring to register as a sex offender and suspected probation violations in 2019, according to a news release from the agency.
Robert Hartsock, 49, was sentenced in Indiana on charges of child seduction and sexual battery, but fled the state without permission after being released from custody, the authorities said.
His arrest follows tips from community members who learned of his identity and contacted Indiana law enforcement.
Hartsock was apprehended in the 200 block of W. 10th Street in Pueblo by U.S. Marshals and several other agencies, including the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office and Fountain Police Department, the release states.
He will remain in the Pueblo County jail until his extradition proceedings are complete.
