Woman and 2 children with Monument ties die in Kansas crash
A woman and two children with ties to Monument were among the four dead in a crash in Kansas early Saturday morning.
As reported by Gazette media partner KOAA, the Kansas Highway Patrol said the crash happened around 12:30 a.m. on Interstate 135 near Lindsborg, about 70 miles north of Wichita.
Kansas Highway Patrol said a Honda SUV was driving the wrong way on the highway when it hit a Toyota SUV.
The children in the Toyota were 7-year-old Ronan Barton and 13-year-old Jesse Kinney, who were both from Monument. The driver of the Toyota, 31-year-old Lydia Barton, also died in the crash. Barton was listed as a Wichita resident by the highway patrol, but public records indicate a recent address in Monument.
