Bring your pup! 6 dog-friendly spots where you can grab a bite or a brew in Colorado Springs
Summer has arrived, and that means it’s officially patio season in Colorado.
Colorado is among the most dog-friendly states in the U.S., so it’s no surprise that in Colorado Springs, you’ll find a range of restaurants and breweries where you can bring your pup out to eat with you.
Here’s a list of six local spots that allow dogs, with some offering specialty menu items just for man’s best friend.
Lost Friend Brewing
Lost Friend Brewing is a ‘dog-loving, community-building, neighborhood craft brewery,’ according to their website and staff. Dogs are allowed to sit in the taproom with their owners, as long as they are leashed and well-behaved. The brewery provides water bowls as well as some treats, and tables have carabiners for holding a leash. Enjoy one of their numerous beers on tap.
Pub Dog
Looking for a dog park with food? Pub Dog has you covered with the best of both worlds. With a full beer, wine, and cocktail menu, you can grab a drink as your pup runs around the outdoor play park with other dogs. The restaurant also has a full food menu for both humans and dogs. Enjoy a burger or sandwich while your four-legged friend indulges on a puppy patty or blueberry ‘cheesecake’. The restaurant also holds weekly specials with drink discounts and meetups for specific dog breeds.
Cerberus Brewing
Named after the three-headed dog of Greek mythology—it only makes sense that this brewery is dog-friendly. Enjoy local beers on tap as well as rotating guest taps, plus a full food menu that includes truffle pub fries and a smoked brisket grilled cheese. If your dog needs a snack, Cerberus also offers a ‘puppy patty’ and ‘bark-uterie board’. According to their site, dogs are welcome at their patio, beer garden and dining tent.
Lazy Dog
Enjoy brunch, lunch, or dinner with your pooch at Lazy Dog. This restaurant allows leashed dogs on their patio. The staff will bring a complimentary bowl of water to keep your pup cool, and they also offer a dog menu, which includes a choice between a beef or chicken bowl with rice and mixed vegetables.
The Exchange on Tejon
Open at 7 a.m., this is the perfect pick for a downtown breakfast, brunch or lunch with your furry friend. Menu offerings include house-made baked goods, a breakfast burrito, a tostada Cubano, several vegan sandwich options and more. The cocktail menu features mimosa flights and brunch cocktails, including a bacon-infused Bloody Mary. Your dog is welcome to join you on the patio with a bowl of water, some treats.
Shuga’s
A staple in south downtown Colorado Springs for over 20 years, this late-night spot is the perfect place to enjoy a meal and a drink with your dog. Shuga’s offers a full menu of beer, wine, fun cocktails, espresso and food. You’ll also find bruschetta options and charcuterie boards on the menu, along with classics including soups and sandwiches. According to the website, “dogs (and all other furry monsters)” are allowed in the yurt and on the patio but must stay on leashes.
