The 40-year-old Flacco gives Cincinnati another option. Jake Browning has struggled since replacing Joe Burrow, who is out with a toe injury sustained in Week 2. Flacco started the first four games for the Browns this season, completing 93 of 160 passes for 815 yards and two touchdowns with six interceptions. Jones called the gesture “inadvertent” and that he “put up the wrong show on the hand.”

QB John Mateer could miss No. 6 Oklahoma’s rivalry game vs. Texas with injury

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) — Oklahoma quarterback John Mateer might not be ready for Saturday’s rivalry game against Texas. Mateer injured his throwing hand during Oklahoma’s win over Auburn on Sept. 20 and had surgery during the team’s bye week. He missed last week’s game against Kent State. Coach Brent Venables said Mateer hasn’t practiced against the first-string defense since the injury. Michael Hawkins Jr. and Whitt Newbauer are getting those reps. Texas coach Steve Sarkisian said they are preparing for Mateer, calling him a dynamic player. If Mateer can’t play, Hawkins will start.

In the first quarter, a pass was overthrown, and Lewis’ momentum took him into an unpadded section of the wall. He was carted off after being attended to for about 10 minutes. Venables said Monday that Lewis is doing well and is in great spirits.

It will be the first time the Skins Game is being played since 2008. The new Skins Game will feature something called a reverse purse. Players start with $1 million and it rises or falls depending on holes won or lost.
