Oddity & Fear Fest brings all things strange and spooky to Colorado Springs
Skulls, taxidermy and tarot cards — oh my! Colorado Springs’ Oddity & Fear Fest is bringing a little bit of everything strange and spooky to town this weekend.
Returning to the Colorado Springs Event Center at 3960 Palmer Park Blvd., the festival will bring together artists, vendors and performers specializing in all things unusual and mysterious.
The two-day event will feature everything from anatomical curiosities to taxidermy, antiques and unusual artwork from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
Visitors also can find psychic readings, a haunted-style walk-through by Mystery of the 13 Souls Productions and daily seminars from a magician, The Honest Cheat.
As Halloween approaches, the festival also leans into more horror-themed entertainment than ever before, show manager Jerrad Carrithers said.
“The spooky aspect of it all is a lot more prevalent this time around,” he said. “With Halloween coming up, it’s going to be filled with horror from art to books and comics. There’s a lot of freaky and mysterious things coming.”
This weekend, taxidermy is one of the most popular attractions, as skulls displayed with artwork rest inside glass domes for spectators.
“The taxidermy stuff is super cool,” Carrithers said. “It’s super interesting and everything from the taxidermy to the psychic readings is really freaky.”
Adult admission is $15.28 online or $14 at the door, with children 12 and under admitted for free.
