Pair of CSU Rams earn weekly Pac-12 awards
One week into being a part of the new-look Pac-12 and Colorado State is already leaving its mark.
After taking down rival Wyoming by a final of 35-13 to kick off the 2026 season this past weekend in Fort Collins, the Rams earned a pair of player of the week honors from their new conference.
Quarterback Hauss Hejny, an Oklahoma State transfer who completed 23-of-33 passes for 214 yards and five touchdowns to go with 39 rushing yards and 28 receiving yards, was named Pac-12 offensive player of the week.
Linebacker Oumar Diomande, a UConn transfer who tallied 11 tackles and an interception, was named the conference’s defensive player of the week.
Diomande was also part of a collective effort to hold the Cowboys offense to under 300 total yards in the game.
CSU is 1-0 for the first time since 2017 when it opened Canvas Stadium with a dominant 58-27 victory over Oregon State.
After their 60th Border War win, the Rams remain at home this week to take on FCS Southern Utah on Saturday (5 p.m. CBS Sports Network).
