New depth chart points to potential lineup changes for Air Force football
Air Force football could shake up its lineup against North Dakota State, according to a depth chart issued Monday.
Jon Ashford, who played as a reserve in an opening 34-0 victory over Duquesne, is now listed as the starting right guard. TJ Tarascio, who started at right guard, is now listed as a possible starter at left guard along with Alec Falk. Falk, the Palmer Ridge graduate who started 11 games last season, started at left guard in the opener.
The left tackle position also added Nathan Elwood as a possible starter along with Brandon Nazworth, with their names among the three on the offensive side of the depth chart separated by an “or.”
Elwood started 10 games at right tackle last season, while Ashford — a junior and the roster’s largest lineman at a listed 6-foot-2, 320 pounds — made his starting debut in the finale.

At fullback, Kemper Hodges and Owen Allen are now each listed as potential starters after Allen started the opener.
Hodges, the future air battle manager who started a game at quarterback last season, but is now working exclusively as a fullback, rumbled for 72 yards and a touchdown on six carries against Duquesne.
“I can see, kind of like we did today, where we played both those guys,” coach Troy Calhoun said of Hodges and Allen following Saturday’s game.
Allen ran for 100-plus yards five times last season without making a start, so he is accustomed to finding success in a reserve role if that’s where the team again places him.
A change not made on the depth chart was at slot receiver, where Matt Long remains listed as the starter following a fourth-quarter injury that resulted in him being carted to the locker room.
Mountain West policy now requires injury reports to be released 48 hours prior to conference games, so an update on Long could be coming at that time.
The Falcons host North Dakota State at 8 p.m. Saturday in the first game for the Bison as a member of the conference.
