A man who broke into an apartment Friday on the city’s north side ran off when gunshots rang out inside the home, police said.

The suspect, identified by police as 34-year-old Robert Fusco, threatened to harm the victim while forcing his way into the home at 12500 Toscana Heights.

“As officers were enroute, updated information came in that the suspect made entry into the apartment and the victim fired at [sic] gun at the suspect,” according to an online blotter entry.

Fusco fled but was arrested a short time later. Medical personnel treated him on scene, but “there was no indication he was struck by the gunfire,” the entry states.

The 911 call came at 10:50 p.m.
