Colorado Springs police are investigating a Thursday morning crash between a motorcycle and a work-style pickup truck that sent a person to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The crash occurred at about 7:50 a.m. near North Murray Boulevard and East Bijou Street, just southeast of The Citadel mall, according to the Police Department.

Preliminary findings by police indicate that both vehicles were northbound on North Murray Boulevard in separate lanes when the two drivers sideswiped each other.

Speed is not considered a factor in the crash, but police said investigators are still determining if alcohol is a factor.

North Murray Boulevard between East Bijou Street and East Pikes Peak Avenue was closed for several hours before reopening at 11:48 a.m., police said.
