Authorities are searching for a suspect after a man reported being kidnapped and forced to drive from Castle Rock to Colorado Springs.

After being found in Colorado Springs, the man told officers that he had gotten off work in Castle Rock sometime Thursday evening when another man approached him and entered his car, indicating or feigning he had a possible gun by holding an object in his jacket pocket.

The suspect and the man drove to an area near East Van Buren Street in Colorado Springs, where police said the suspect walked off on foot.

Officers searched the area but couldn’t find the suspect.

The man was uninjured.

Colorado Springs and Castle Rock police are working together to identify the suspect. Authorities say they have a potential lead but had not shared more details as of Friday.
