Powers Boulevard reopened after multi-car crash Thursday morning
A crash involving multiple vehicles prompted a closure of Powers Boulevard Thursday morning in Colorado Springs for several hours.
Police were called to the intersection of Powers and Constitution Avenue just before 4:30 a.m., according to Gazette news partner KOAA. The Colorado Department of Transportation reported the reopening at around 9:15 a.m.
According to police, a motorcyclist hit a car heading northbound along Powers, sending it into the southbound lanes where it was hit by an SUV. Multiple people were injured and taken to a hospital.
Speed and alcohol are factors in the crash, police say.
