From Italy to Germany in Colorado Springs: These beloved delis honor traditions
In this weekly feature, we’re celebrating the best of Colorado Springs’ food and drink scene ー as determined by voters in the 2026 Best of the Springs (thebestofthesprings.com). We’ll throw in our own recommendation, too.
Up this week: Delis.
Gold: Mollica’s Italian Market & Deli
Since 1987, the family-owned fixture has been honoring Italy with a market full of traditional goods and a full spread of deli delights. It’s a long list of sandwiches beside an equally beloved menu of homemade pastas and soups and salads. Regulars don’t leave without a cannoli. 985 Garden of the Gods Road, Suite A
Silver: Wooglin’s Deli & Cafe
Wooglin’s had long been a go-to adjacent to Colorado College’s campus before the building was razed to make room for Robson Arena. In 2020, the deli opened on the east side, where it stands bigger than ever. That means more room for “overstuffed sandwiches,” bagel melts and all-day breakfast. 4750 Barnes Road

Bronze: Wimberger’s Old World Bakery and Deli
The cobblestone exterior is fit for a European fantasy. And the goodies inside are the stuff of dreams. Wimberger’s is the spot for soft pretzels and other breads and pastries true to Germany. 2321 Bott Ave.
Our recommendation: Black Forest Foods
A bustling scene has emerged at a corner of downtown Monument, where locals and Front Range travelers converge for hearty, hot and cold sandwiches worth the trip. The little deli is also the unexpected place for the best burger around. Black Forest Foods is the creation of a native Romanian proudly “infusing a European touch into American classics.” 140 Second St.
