Fire ignites at Dick’s Sporting Goods, evacuating Chapel Hills Mall
Colorado Springs firefighters have removed a trash compactor that ignited in the Dick’s Sporting Goods at the Chapel Hills Mall around 3:50 p.m. on Tuesday, the department posted on social media.
No injuries were reported, and CSFD had asked people to avoid the area.

Crews were able to remove the compactor with help from Randy’s Towing and will remain on scene until it is fully extinguished, according to CSFD.
