The Colorado Springs Police Department responded to a fatal pedestrian vs. vehicle crash that closed all of northbound Powers Boulevard at Palmer Park Boulevard early Friday.

The roadway was closed for several hours but reopened just before 9 a.m., according to a social media post from the Police Department.

Police determined a woman was killed as a result of the crash.

Preliminary investigation showed a vehicle northbound on Powers struck a pedestrian at the intersection of Palmer Park Boulevard at around 5 a.m., police said.

As of Friday morning, speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash
