Gasoline Alley is more than a rock-and-roll bar: 2-minute review
You’ve heard of the downtown, rooftop bar, but have you tried their menu?
Gasoline Alley, located at 28 N. Tejon Street, is a staple in Colorado Springs nightlife, but their menu doesn’t get enough attention. I call it “elevated bar food.”
We tried their Philly cheesesteak (the Rebel) and barbeque bacon burger (the Southern Rock Burger), with sides of buffalo and garlic fries, and were beyond impressed. Both meals were surprisingly high quality for being served at a borderline dive bar.
The Rebel was tasty and creamy with their signature sauce, but had a serious lack of peppers, which was made up for in tender, flakey beef.
The Southern Rock Burger had a high-quality patty with an abundant amount of barbeque sauce, which brought out the smokiness of the bacon.
Both orders of French fries hit the mark; with the garlic fries perfectly crispy and light, and the buffalo fries coated with a mouthwatering amount of sauce.
Gasoline Alley is open every night until 2 a.m. and makes for a great cheap lunch spot or a late night eat, which Colorado Springs often lacks. For both meals, we paid $31.
