It’s patio season in Colorado Springs. Check out these 4 spots

In this weekly feature, we’re celebrating the best of Colorado Springs’ food and drink scene ー as determined by voters in the 2026 Best of the Springs (thebestofthesprings.com). We’ll throw in our own recommendation, too.

Up this week: Patios.

Gold: Patty Jewett Bar & Grill

When it comes to patio season in Colorado Springs, the city’s historic public golf course reigns supreme. This is prime brunch real estate ー a seat overlooking the greens and Pikes Peak. Drink it in with a PJ Bloody or mimosa, or in the evening watch the sun go down behind the mountain with a burger in hand. 900 E. Espanola St.

Silver: Mountain View Cafe

It’s not exactly a mountain view on the patio beside Black Forest Road, but that’s not why people come here. They come for the pines and fresh air of the countryside here away from the city. And they come for fresh, creative takes on breakfast they swear is unmatched in the larger metro. 11424 Black Forest Road

Bronze: Edelweiss German Restaurant

Inside and outside, Edelweiss transports guests to Old World Europe. It’s a cozy interior of cobblestone and wood, while the patio is a lush ー “the perfect place for a hot meal and a gold German beer,” by the restaurant’s billing. No wonder Edelweiss has been around for 50-plus years. 34 E. Ramona Ave.

Our recommendation: Rico’s Cafe & Wine Bar

Rico’s is attached to Poor Richard’s Bookstore downtown, and through the back door is this green, serene escape from the city bustle. We love to kick back with a book, listen to the trickling water and sip a coffee, wine or beer. 322 N. Tejon St.

Loyal patrons Paul Crawford and Kris Crawford love to sit on the patio of the Edelweiss restaurant; it’s known as one of the top patios in the city. Edelweiss has been serving German food for over 50 years. Manager/part owner Dieter Schnakenberg’s mother, Helga, started as a waitress at the restaurant in the ‘60s. Eventually, Helga and her husband, Gary, bought the restaurant. (Jerilee Bennett, The Gazette
