6 indicted on drug-trafficking charges in Pikes Peak region, 300,000 fentanyl pills seized

A grand jury in El Paso County indicted six people after law enforcement seized over 300,000 suspected fentanyl pills, heroin and other drugs, the 4th Judicial District Attorney’s Office announced on Thursday.
Colorado Springs police and the Drug Enforcement Administration believe that the defendants were operating a drug-trafficking organization in the Pikes Peak region from July 1, 2025, to Nov. 14, 2025, that was based in Mexico.
Oscar Casillas-Vizcarra, 32, Jose Escalante-Enciso, 25, Jesus Soto-Nunez, 25, and Bradley Castillo, 25, were indicted on one count of racketeering and 22 drug charges. Authorities withheld the names of the two remaining defendants due to pending warrants, according to the news release.
Escalante-Enciso is scheduled to appear before an El Paso County judge on Aug. 17, while the rest of the defendants are expected to appear in court Monday. All were being held on $1 million bonds as of Thursday evening, court records show.
Earlier this week, police and the DEA announced the seizure of 7 pounds of cocaine, 2½ pounds of methamphetamine, 2 gallon bags of fentanyl, 7 rifles, 3 pistols and $100,000 while executing warrants in the 2400 block of Payne Circle West and 1100 block of Hathaway Drive.
Those warrants led to the arrests of Jacob Tardiff, Martin Medina and Rogerio Barraza-Mendoza, according to authorities.
None of those defendants have publicly available federal or state court cases, although court records show a “Jacob Tardif” faces drug charges in El Paso County after an arrest on the same day the warrants were executed.
A DEA spokesperson redirected The Gazette’s request to clarify the name spellings and court case statuses to CSPD. A spokesperson with CSPD told The Gazette that the spelling of the names in the initial announcement were correct.
It is unclear whether these defendants include the two names withheld by the DA because they have not yet been arrested. As of Thursday evening, El Paso County jail logs did not show the defendants from the arrest announced earlier this week.
