Man faces murder charge in death of woman at Colorado Springs motel

Timothy O’Brien, 60, was arrested on Monday by Colorado Springs police in connection with the death of Lauren Jensen-Green, 65, in a motel last week, the department announced.

Police had responded to the 1700 block around 11:30 a.m. May 20 after a report of a deceased person, according to previous Gazette reporting.

Jensen-Green was found deceased inside a motel room in the 1700 block of South Nevada Avenue, which police initially described as a suspicious death.

As the investigation remains active, anyone with information can call CSPD at 719-444-7000 or remain anonymous on the crime stoppers tip line at 719-634-7867.

O’Brien, who faces a first-degree murder charge, was arrested on an unrelated warrant and is scheduled to appear in an El Paso County courtroom for his first appearance on June 3. His bond is set for review at $50,000, jail records indicate.

Colorado court records show he does not have a publicly available criminal history since 1992, when he pleaded guilty to arson in Denver.

There have been six homicides in Colorado Springs this year, 10 fewer than this time last year.
