Fast-growing home services firm Around the Clock celebrates its first year in Colorado Springs

Around the Clock Heating, Cooling, Plumbing & Electric in Colorado Springs is celebrating its first year in business in grand fashion.

To commemorate this milestone and honor his company’s exceptional growth, owner and founder Jose Anon and his staff are hosting a grand opening of their new 10,000-square-foot headquarters at 610 First St., at the northwest corner of the intersection at East Fillmore and North El Paso streets, east of Interstate 25.

The community celebration begins at 9 a.m. Tuesday. It will feature food and drinks, giveaways and prizes, facility tours and the opportunity to meet the team. A ribbon cutting ceremony will start at 11 a.m.

“This feels amazing,” Anon said of his business’s success and rapid first-year growth. “But at the end of the day, what’s important is the impact we’ve made.”

Anon, an entrepreneur with Cuban roots who relocated from Florida to Colorado five years ago during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, founded the business last May 5, the birthdate of his beloved late grandfather.

Around the Clock, known for its playful billboards declaring “Your Wife is Hot,” began modestly, “from scratch,” Anon described it, as a 10- to 15-person enterprise providing only HVAC services.

At first, Anon and his team worked long hours without desks, chairs or even computers. But armed with pens, paper and their cellphones, the team banded together and started making cold calls.

In 12 months, Anon has scaled his company to a projected $14 million to $16 million in revenues, providing only HVAC services. This week he began running a full electric team and will soon start running a plumbing team.

With 42 employees currently, his goal is to grow Around the Clock to 80 employees by December and to $100 million in revenues within three to five years.

Anon credits his success to a strong work ethic and unrivaled commitment to the customer and the greater community — values his grandfather, who was a successful Cuban contractor in Miami, instilled in him, he said.

“He’s the one who taught me to do the right thing, be a man of your word. The old school real deal,” Anon said.

Around the Clock provides true 24/7 repair, maintenance and installation services and literal red-carpet treatment for their customers. When receiving service, the team takes care to protect a customer’s flooring and other items in their home by rolling out red carpet throughout the working area, Anon explained.

Each new customer also gets a pie, free of charge and courtesy of Taste of Life, a natural market and prepared meals kitchen located in Monument, north of Colorado Springs. Anon estimated he gives away 800 to 1,000 pies every week.

Anon and his company also do regular giveaways of new and used equipment, and sponsor local sports teams the Colorado Springs Switchbacks and Colorado College Tigers men’s hockey.

All of this builds trust with current and potential clients, he said.

“Our reputation is everything,” Anon said.

Additionally, Anon owns and operates a roofing business, Iron Shield Roofing, and provides business consulting services through his company Infinite Mind Consulting.
