Pikes Pick: Día del Niño celebration

The Butterfly Pavilion is partnering with the Mexican Cultural Center for a day of blending culture with discovery at the Día del Niño (Day of the Child) Celebration, 9-5 a.m. April 4 at the Butterfly Pavilion, 6152 W. 104th Ave., Westminster.

This family-friendly celebration represents the imagination and energy children bring to their cultures, communities and the world through an invertebrate lens.

You can play a traditional Mexican game of Lotería with an invertebrate twist, design and create a piñata, a bouquet or a milagritos charm, attend Spanish story time or learn about the world of edible insects and even taste a bug.

Performances will include music, traditional dances and a mariachi band.

The event is included with general admission. Go online for prices and tickets: butterflies.org/dia-del-nino.
