Walsenburg issued a boil water advisory because of a water line break resulting in the loss of pressure in the water system, according to an emergency message from the city.

The message advises residents to boil all water for at least one minute before drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth or washing dishes. Crews will repair the break once it is located and there is no estimated repair time, an update from the city at 10 a.m. states.

The break forced Huerfano School District RE-1 to cancel classes on Monday and Tuesday for Walsenburg Junior Senior High School and Peakview Schools, according the district’s website.
