Teen suspect linked to 5 armed robberies in Colorado Springs, police say

After a two-year investigation, Colorado Springs police have arrested a suspect allegedly involved in five armed robberies.

Investigators got their lead after a hooded, masked figure wearing a reflective glass mask and black clothes opened the doors of a convenience store and brandished a revolver at the store clerk, according to a blotter entry from the Colorado Springs Police Department.

Police said the suspect, a juvenile carrying a dark-colored backpack, stole “multiple” vape products from the store in the 5900 block of Dublin Boulevard before fleeing.

Investigators canvassed the area and reviewed surveillance footage. Their efforts led to the identification of the suspect, who police are not naming due to his age.

Police located the juvenile suspect in northeast Colorado Springs on Wednesday and arrested him.

The juvenile is allegedly involved in six robbery cases in all, three of which include convenience stores that date back to December 2024. He is being charged with five counts of aggravated robbery and one count of attempted aggravated robbery.

“At this time, this is the only suspect investigators believe is involved,” said Police Department spokesperson Caitlin Ford.
