Marshals arrest Pueblo 16-year-old in alleged homicide attempt

Local and federal law enforcement apprehended a 16-year-old attempted homicide suspect in Pueblo in a shooting that left a victim paralyzed, the U.S. Marshals Service announced in a press release Tuesday.

Pueblo police were able to identify the suspect of the Feb. 19 shooting and an arrest warrant was issued on March 2.

Numerous law enforcement agencies, including police in Fountain and Rocky Ford, aided in providing surveillance that was able to find the suspect outside a residence on Sunday. When the suspect entered a vehicle, marshals surrounded it and took the teen into custody, the release states.

The teenager was taken to the Pueblo Police Department for further questioning. The 16-year-old also is suspected of committing a separate drive-by shooting, according to the release.
