Tracking Coloradans in the Winter Olympics

The Olympic Games began Friday for Fort Collins native Hunter Powell, a former track athlete at Fort Collins High School and Colorado State who is now in the four-man bobsled in the sled driven by Kris Horn.

The crew completed their first training run on Friday and will continue to compete Saturday, with finals awaiting on Sunday.

– Svea Irving (Winter Park) qualified with the eighth-best score in the women’s freestyle skiing halfpipe. The 23-year-old, whose grandfather father John Irving is a noted novelist whose works include The World According to Garp and the Cider House Rules, scored an 80.75 on her second run to advance to Saturday’s final.
