LETTERS: Illegal behavior; a new year

Fun illegal behavior

I’m writing this on Jan. 1, 2026. I want to congratulate the people who did fireworks last night. You accomplished your goal: 1. scare pets 2. disrespected military who have PTSD 3. disrupted regular people trying to sleep 4. totally ignored city laws.

The area of town I’m writing about is between Murray Blvd. and Powers Blvd., off of Palmer Park Blvd. The fireworks started at 6:00 p.m. and lasted until after 1:00 a.m. While you had fun, no doubt drinking, the rest of us had to put up with your illegal behavior. Funny how wasting money on fireworks gives you pleasure. Looking forward to 4th of July for more of your fun.

The year of twenty-six

May we feel joy, have diverse pleasures, do many things, and enjoy quite a mix in the year of twenty-six.

May our hearts beat steadily, reliably, and confidently and play no tricks in the year of twenty-six.

May our bones be strong, hold us firm and tall, not like frail sticks in the year of twenty-six.

May our cars start up when it’s cold and keep us cool when it’s warm and never need a fix in the year of twent- six.

May a young quarterback take Denver far, we’ll cheer for Bo Nix in the year of twenty-six.

And lastly may we laugh a lot, value each other’s company, and get our kicks in the year of twenty-six.

I do hope 2026 will be overflowing with blessings for each of you and your loved ones.

All over the world, we have a uniform way to to keep time. Putting the science part aside, we know that today is 2026, don’t we? The correct time (now) is 3:15 am, January 1 , 2026 A D. The AD part is After the Death of Christ — just as BC denotes Before Christ. But whose death are we talking about? Of course it is Jesus Christ. So, via the very time that we keep in effect (in some small manner) we are acknowledging the birth and death of Jesus. Is this not true?

We are in fact, accepting the greatest events in the history of the world just by telling the correct time! This is true no matter where you are. So it is – whether you are in India, Tibet, or Iran, it is 2026 AD (after the death of Christ).

I like to tell time by adding the AD part. It is correct, and it also honors the one and only God of us all. As a sidebar, I’ve often wondered if atheists are offended by the way we keep time.

A simple test

Almost every day The Gazette Business section features articles trying to gauge consumer sentiment and predict trends in the economy.

I suggest a simple, two part test for consumer attitudes:

  1. Gas prices: down.
  2. Stock Market: up.

These two trends do not require a Ph.d in economics for the average person to follow, and quickly provide feedback every day.

Questioning green energy

Aside from the questionable need for 100% green energy, many locations have backed off from it as not being unachievable, especially with the advent of AI and it’s energy needs. Those who have been most successful have significant hydro and geothermal available, not relying solely on wind and solar.

In addition, as I understand the plan, it doesn’t seem enough new generation is planned, likely leading to brownout and blackouts.

In defense of Tina Peters

It’s commonly reported that “Tina Peters was convicted by a jury of her peers, prosecuted by a Republican District Attorney, and found guilty of violating Colorado state laws, including criminal impersonation.”

The needed corrections are:
1) Tina was not convicted by a jury of her peers. Most looked barely out of college, if that. Tina was 69 at the time of her trial, when Judge Mathew Barrett censored her defense at least 39 times. Her jury never heard her defense or what she found.

2) “Republican” DA, Dan Rubinstein, never investigated the Level 3 Election fraud Tina accidentally discovered and reported. See the evidence in Report #3 at tinapeters.us if you want your votes to count.

3) Peters broke no Colorado laws. She disobeyed SOS email orders and hid her subject-matter expert from the SOS team, which she had the right to do under Election Rule 20.5.3(b). Prosecution attorney Robert Shapiro only quoted Election Rule 20.5.3(a). The SOS email orders violated the B rule. “Criminal Impersonation” was a fabricated criminal charge known only to those who know Colorado’s Election Rules.

In 1963, the US Supreme Court said withholding exculpatory evidence violates the defendant’s right to a fair trial. Does it now look like Judge Matthew Barrett, DA Rubinstein, and Prosecuting Attorney Robert Shapiro have Brady violations coming to them?

Handling the truth

In a recent column Mike Rosen mentioned Donald Trump’s future presidential library. Everyone knows that Trump doesn’t read. What would such a library contain? A copy of “Mad” magazine and a Donald Duck comic book?

Radical right-wingers like Rosen can’t comprehend factual reports from trusted news sources like 60 Minutes and network news programs. God forbid that they tell the truth about Trump’s many failings. As quoted by Jack Nicholson in “A few Good Men”, “You can’t handle the truth.”

Right-wingers are never satisfied unless news stories conform to their crazy ideas of how the world should be, not how it is. Open your eyes and ears to the truth, Mike. You might learn something.
