LETTERS: President Donald Trump’s playing with his ‘toy soldiers’

Trump like a boy playing with his toy soldiers

Since Donald Trump changed the name of the Department of Defense to the War Department, guess what, he wants a war. He’s like a six-year-old boy who got a set of soldiers for Christmas and now wants to have a war so the soldiers will have something to do. It doesn’t really matter where the war is. It can be in Venezuela; it can be in Los Angeles or any other city in the U.S. that has a Democratic mayor. No wonder the only peace prize he could win was a made up one from FIFA.

Recall petitions available for District 2

People involved with the Tom Bailey Recall effort (www.integritymatterscos.org/tom-bailey-
recall) say they have escalated to him multiple times about the noise at the Ford Amphitheater exceeding lawful limits, even sending pictures of decibel meter readings. Others say they have tried to contact him about development projects resulting in crime, school crowding and traffic issues. For some reason they seldom hear back from Tom.

According to Tom’s LinkedIn page he is managing partner of Ridge Gate Partners, LLC which invests in commercial and multi-family real estate. Dun & Bradstreet reports that Ridge Gate Partners, LLC’s industry group includes Land Subdivision, Construction and Subdividers and developers.

The Gazette reported Tom has a connection with VENU, the company that owns the Ford Amphitheater. Bailey owns a fire-pit suite at the amphitheater that is worth around $250,000.

The Gazette also reported that Tom received campaign contributions of $2500 from VENU and $10,000 from the Colorado Springs Housing & Business Association. He also received between $1,000 and $2,500 in campaign contributions from La Plata Communities, the firm that worked on the Amara and Karman Line annexations. He received more than $38,000 in contributions even though his competitor dropped out of the race leaving Tom to win by default.

It looks like Tom is doing a great job taking care of number one. And let’s not be surprised if his friends in real estate are happy too. That just leaves his constituents, the District 2 citizens, who do not seem happy at all. If you live in District 2, or know someone who does, and are looking for a way to send a message that Tom will not be able to ignore, there are recall petitions available for signing at Pine Creek Veterinary, Classic Dental, North Springs Ob/Gyn, and Alligator Allergy & Asthma. Get there by Dec. 23.
