El Paso County woman arrested for allegedly stabbing man

El Paso County Sheriff’s deputies on Sunday arrested a woman suspected of stabbing a man in a domestic violence incident, according to a Monday news release.

Amanda Fahey, 31, is facing multiple charges, including attempted murder, second-degree assault and child abuse, officials said.

At about 10:30 p.m. Sunday, deputies responded to a 911 call about a possible domestic disturbance at a home in the 1600 block of Maxwell Street in unincorporated El Paso County, the release stated. The initial caller said a man and woman were fighting in the home, and that the woman sounded like she was yelling for help.

At about the same time, dispatchers received a separate emergency call about a person with a “serious injury.”

When deputies arrived at the residence, they found a woman, later identified as Fahey, a man with a “significant injury” to his arm, and a small child, according to the release.

The man, whose name was not released, was transported to a local hospital. Fahey was taken into custody.

Investigators determined that Fahey allegedly stabbed the victim with a kitchen knife. She is currently being held without bond.
