Arrest made after shed explodes, catches fire in Colorado Springs neighborhood
A home in a Colorado Springs neighborhood caught fire after a shed filled with trespassers exploded Wednesday morning, police said.
Smoke and fire was reported in the 200 block of Swope Avenue, northeast of Memorial Park, just before 6:30 a.m., according to the Colorado Springs Police Department. One of the 911 callers reported hearing someone yelling for help as the fire grew.
The fire was knocked down about 30 minutes later, according to the Colorado Springs Fire Department.
Fire investigators determined the blaze started inside the shed, where multiple people were staying, police said. The fire then spread to the neighboring home.
A video shared by the Fire Department shows the fire engulfing the mobile home.
