Ski film tradition returns to Colorado
With ski season in Colorado comes a stoke-raising tradition.
That’s the annual film from Warren Miller Entertainment, which is touring across the nation now through December.
In Colorado, the company’s 76th film, “SNO-CIETY,” will be shown twice on Nov. 5-6 at Lakewood Cultural Center, before screening on Nov. 7 at Canon City’s Canon Cinema and on Nov. 8 at Colorado Springs’ Stargazers Theatre.
Other Front Range stops: Nov. 11 at Loveland’s Rialto Theater; Nov. 12 at the Buffalo Rose in Golden; Nov. 13-15 at Boulder Theater; Nov. 21-23 at Paramount Theatre in Denver; Nov. 24-26 at Lone Tree Arts Center; and Nov. 25-26 at Fort Collins’ Lincoln Center.
“SNO-CIETY” has been billed as “a deep dive into the culture behind the sport” by Josh Haskins, Warren Miller executive producer. He continued in a news release: “It captures the humor, approachable personalities and memorable moments that make our community so unique.”
This is captured at “a local hill-turned-terrain park in downtown Denver.” Ruby Hill is among the film’s settings, which span the Scottish Highlands, streets of Finland and back bowls of British Columbia’s Whitewater Mountain Resort. In an aim to “uncover what drives us to chase powder year after year,” the film turns to “a diverse lineup of Olympians, urban riders and local legends.”
