Colorado Springs police: Business suffers ‘significant’ damage after car crashes into storefront

Broadmoor Nails & Spa damage

A Colorado Springs business has suffered a “significant” amount of property damage after a car crashed into the storefront Friday night, police said.

The Colorado Springs Police Department responded to the crash around 8:30 p.m. in the 800 block of Cheyenne Meadows Road, near South Nevada Avenue, according to a police blotter entry. The vehicle was reportedly jammed into the business.

The business, Broadmoor Nails & Spa, was closed at the time of the crash. No injuries were reported, and no arrest was made. Police said they do not suspect that the driver was under the influence.

Quyen Nguyen, the store’s owner, said he was at home when he got a call that a car had crashed into his spa. He quickly rushed over to check the damages.

“Police told me that an (older) gentleman was trying to reverse but accidentally went forward instead,” Nguyen said. “It’s completely destroyed. We lost everything.”

Nguyen is estimating it will take at least three weeks before the business is fully repaired.

Video footage seen by The Gazette shows the driver of the vehicle reversing out of the business as he’s guided by Colorado Springs police officers.

“Luckily, the gentleman is OK,” Nguyen said.
