Late-night east Colorado Springs bar fight escalates to stabbing

Police Lights

An apparent late-night bar fight that was taken outside led to an arrest after a man allegedly stabbed another at a parking lot in east Colorado Springs, according to police.

Officers arrived to the 2400 block of North Union Boulevard, near Constitution Avenue, around 11:45 p.m. Thursday and found a man with a non-life-threatening knife wound on his neck, Colorado Springs police said in an online blotter entry.

Former Colorado county jail commander charged with 117 counts of invasion of privacy

Police took 42-year-old Phillip Conner into custody a short time later and discovered that the suspect and the man knew each other, and that the disturbance started at the bar then moved to the parking lot.

Conner was charged with first-degree assault and booked into the El Paso County jail.  He is being held on a $25,000 bond.

Public records indicate Conner has been found guilty of a first-degree misdemeanor for pointing or brandishing a firearm in Virginia back in 2015.
