Daniels Scholarship Application closes this week
Local aspiring college students still have time to apply for a prestigious scholarship that could cover their entire college education.
The application period for the 2025 Daniels Scholarship is open until 4 p.m., Oct. 18.
The annual scholarship awards outstanding students from Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming with funding for a network of partnering two- or four-year nonprofit, accredited colleges or universities in those respective states.
In Colorado, partnering colleges and universities include Colorado College, Colorado State University and the network of University of Colorado campuses excluding the Anschutz Medical Campus. The full list of partnering schools can be found here.
Depending on the student’s choice of school, those scholarships could cover all associated costs including tuition and fees, room and board, books, supplies and other educational expenses.
Eligible students for the scholarship are defined as individuals who exhibit strong character, leadership potential, academic promise, commitment to community service and emotional maturity.
Eligible students to receive the scholarship must also:
- Be a graduating high school senior.
- Be a resident of Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, or Wyoming.
- Be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States.
- Earn a minimum grade-point average of 3.0 in high school (on an unweighted 4.0 scale).
- Earn a minimum SAT math score of 490 and a minimum Evidence-Based Reading & Writing score of 490, or a minimum ACT score of 18 in each category (writing score not required).

Since it was established in 2000, the program has distributed more than 5,000 scholarships at an annual rate of about 200 students.
