Before Gene Berens got on the Honor Flight, he came over to lay a big smooch on his wife Denise Berens, he said like he did the first time he left her to go to boot camp. Honor Flight of Southern Colorado was taking veterans from the World War II, Korea and Vietnam eras on a three day, all-expense paid trip to our nation’s capital to see the war memorials that honor their service.
