Colorado Springs firefighters are investigating a blaze that damaged multiple units at a self-storage facility Monday morning.

CSFD crews responded to a 3 a.m. emergency call about a fire at the SecurCare Self Storage, located at 4215 N. Nevada Ave., according to department spokeswoman Ashley Franco. When they arrived, they found smoke billowing from the roof and four units on fire.

“We had to open up several units to ensure (the fire) didn’t spread,” Franco said.

The flames were under control about 15 minutes after CSFD arrived on scene.

Investigators are working with Colorado Springs police to determine the origin of the fire and the extent of the damage, Franco said.
