Colorado Springs residents invited to comment on new strategic plan
Colorado Springs residents can now provide feedback that will help shape the city’s long-term goals and priorities.
The city of Colorado Springs is developing a community-driven 2024-2028 Strategic Plan emphasizing Mayor Yemi Mobolade’s core vision for the next four years. Among other opportunities to provide their feedback on the draft plan before it is finalized, residents are invited to attend and give their comments at a public meeting next week when city officials unveil the document.
The mayor is required by city charter to develop a strategic plan every four years. It prioritizes critical actions and outlines a path for aligning the annual city budget with five priorities of public safety, economic vitality, infrastructure, housing solutions and community activation, officials said in a Tuesday news release.
“To develop a plan that truly reflects the Colorado Springs community, we need to hear from residents,” Strategic Plan Manager Courtney Brown said.
Mobolade and other city leaders, staff and groups have drafted the 2024-2028 Strategic Plan using community input from Listening Tours and Solutions Team recommendations over the last year, but Brown said residents now have another chance to share their thoughts on the document.
The plan will be presented at virtual and in-person meetings on June 11. The public is invited to attend either meeting and provide their comments.
The in-person meeting is 6-7:30 p.m., Tuesday at Carmel Community School, 1740 Pepperwood Drive.
The virtual meeting is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday. On the day of the event, the link to the virtual meeting will be available on the strategic plan webpage at ColoradoSprings.Gov/2024StrategicPlan.
People can also review aspects of the strategic plan and provide comments through a survey, open through June 13, and an interactive ideas wall linked on that website.
