Longtime rock band to join Sunset Amphitheater lineup in Colorado Springs
Rock band Godsmack will roll though town this fall.
The longtime group will perform Oct. 17 at the new Sunset Amphitheater on the city’s north side, southeast of Interstate 25 and North Gate Boulevard in the Polaris Pointe development.
Rock bands Nothing More and Flat Black will open the show.
Tickets are $45-$129.95 and go on sale 10 a.m. Friday. Call 888-929-7849 or go online to axs.com or sunsetamphitheater.live.
Godsmack dropped its self-titled debut album in 1998 and went on to dominate Billboard charts from 2003 to 2010 with three consecutive No. 1 albums: “Faceless, “IV” and “The Oracle.” Some of its 25 Top 10 hits include “Whatever,” “Bad Religion,” “Vampires,” “I Stand Alone” and “Straight Out of Line.”
The band’s latest album, “Lighting Up the Sky,” was released last year.
The band joins the ever increasing lineup of Sunset shows scheduled to kick off Aug. 9 with three consecutive concerts by pop rock band OneRepublic.
The 8,000-seat, open-air venue also will host country stars Dierks Bentley and Walker Hayes, pop rock band Barenaked Ladies, comedian Jim Gaffigan and classic rockers John Fogerty, Steve Miller Band, ZZ Top and Lynyrd Skynyrd.
