The Founder’s Day Parade at the Air Force Academy has been canceled today due to the high winds and low temperatures affecting the area, according to Dean J. Miller, Chief Media Operations with the Air Force Academy.
“Founders’ Day is a traditional celebration of the legacy and future of the U.S. Air Force Academy and its founders,” according to the Air Force Academy’s website.
Colorado Springs is forecast for a 25-degree cool down from yesterday with a high in the 50s, according to meteorologist Casey Dorn with Gazette news partner KOAA.
“Today, our humidity levels in southern Colorado will be in the 8-10% range, rather than the 6-8% we saw yesterday. Avoid outdoor burning today,” Dorn said.
Along with low humidity, there will be a high wind warning in effect from 4 p.m. Saturday to 11 a.m. Sunday. Winds could stay at 30-40 mph and gust up to 60-70 mph, according to Dorn.
