The Colorado Springs Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance locating a man who snatched a woman’s purse at a Colorado Springs grocery store in early February, according to a Wednesday afternoon announcement.

Police said on Feb. 7 just before 4 p.m., officers received a report of robbery at the Safeway at 4405 Centennial Blvd.

The victim of the robbery, an elderly woman, told police she was walking into the store when the suspect grabbed the purse off of her arm, dragging her to the ground.

Surveillance footage collected from the scene shows the suspect fleeing on a bicycle. Police witnessed the suspect speak with a woman in the parking lot prior to leaving the scene, who investigators believe to be a witness to the crime.

Department detectives are asking the public for help in both identifying the suspect, and the woman he’s seen speaking with in the parking lot.

“Anyone with information about the suspect or witness pictured below or who is a witness to this investigation is asked to call the Colorado Springs Police Department at (719) 444-7000; or if you wish to remain anonymous, you may call the Crime Stoppers Tip Line at (719) 634-STOP (7867) or 1-800-222-8477,” officials said.
