The Fountain Creek Nature Center was closed Wednesday because of flood damage from storms earlier this week.

El Paso and Teller counties were hit with 1 to 3 inches of rain Monday, along with hail, mudslides and lightning. Other areas around Colorado Springs saw substantial damage from the storm, with North Cheyenne Cañon Park and a section of Gold Camp Road closed Monday.

Trails and restrooms at the nature center remain open, but it’s unclear when the center will reopen.
