Live blog: Primary election brings big wins in most races

ELECTION GLENN

Wednesday election results remain almost the same as late Tuesday night. Most local races were taken early in the evening and by large margins.

The closest race in the Pikes Peak region is the race for the El Paso County Commissioner District 4 Republican Primary where Longinos Gonzales Jr. was ahead of Scott Turner by 32 votes late Tuesday. County election employees still have to count ballots coming in from overseas and the military before it’s determined whether a recount will be required. Read more about the race and the process ahead.

Other local winners:

Colorado-Springs native Darryl Glenn was off to an early surprise lead and the challengers never caught up. Glenn ended up with 37.8 percent of the vote. The runner-up, Jack Graham, trailed him by more than 45,000 votes.
