The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo will come alive with Halloween spirit when thousands of little princesses and pirates attend Boo at the Zoo, the region’s largest family-friendly Halloween party. Boo is a fun way to trick-or-treat and enjoy Halloween festivities in a safe and fun environment.

From 4-8:30 p.m. on October 17, 18, 23, 24, 25, 30, and 31, guests can explore the Zoo, 4250 Cheyenne Mountain Zoo Rd., and enjoy a variety of activities and displays. Wear a costume and bring a trick-or-treat bag and flashlight. The last tickets will be sold each night at 7:30.

All provided candy is made with sustainable palm oil to help protect wild orangutans. The Zoo seeks to make a difference for wild orangutans by raising awareness about the palm oil crisis and encouraging people to take action by providing tools and information that will allow them to make globally responsible consumer choices. Download the free sustainable palm oil shopping guide app for iPhone and Android, a helpful guide for consumers.

Activities will include a haunted fun house and ghoulish graveyard, trick-or-treating at spooky treat stations, a boo carousel and a lighted pumpkin patch. Select animal exhibits will be open to attendees, including giraffes, Monkey Pavilion, Aquatics, The Loft and Encounter Africa. Guests can also attend select shows each evening by education interpreters for animal encounters.

Volunteers are still needed for this event. Positions include passing out and delivering candy, directing traffic in the parking lot, crossing guards and graveyard zombies. All volunteers must be high school age or older. If an individual or group is interested in volunteering, please contact edprograms@cmzoo.org or 719-424-7827. Specific positions will not be assigned until the evening of the event.
