Several hundred soldiers from Fort Carson’s 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division returned home on Saturday evening.Click here for pictures from the emotional ceremonyThe brigade deployed to Afghanistan in May and June of 2011 and replaced elements of Fort Carson’s 1st brigade Combat Team.Several wounded soldiers from the brigade were honored at the ceremony, including one who received a Medal of Honor and a puple heart. His couragous actions in battle saved the lives of fellow soldiers and that of the Afghan Army.This is the 2nd to last main body flight for the brigade as the rest of the soldiers returned home earlier this month.
