Beacon Lite road project near Monument enters Phase 3

Crews transitioned into Phase 3 of the Beacon Lite Road Improvement Project this week.

Beacon Lite Road will remain closed to through traffic through the project area while local access to homes and businesses is maintained, a release from El Paso County Public Works said. The existing signed through-traffic detour will remain in place.

The Phase 3 hard closure will extend from just north of 19890 Beacon Lite Road to Bricker Road. This closure is expected to remain in place for three weeks.

During Phase 3, crews will continue storm sewer installation on Wakonda Way. Local Traffic Only barricades will remain in place at the south fork of Wakonda Way, and through traffic will continue to follow the signed detour.

Access routes for local traffic will depend on the location of properties in relation to the hard closure. Crews will work with affected property owners as necessary, the release said.

“Traffic accessing properties affected by the Phase 3 closure will need to enter and exit from the south. Local traffic outside the hard-closure area should follow posted signs and flagger directions for access,” the release said. “Drivers should not attempt to travel through the hard-closure area.”

The signed through-traffic detour will remain in place, using Palmer Divide Road, Indi Drive, Aries Drive and Wakonda Way.
