Erika Kirk to address Truth & Liberty Conference attendees on anniversary of her husband’s assassination
On the one-year anniversary of her husband’s assassination, Erika Kirk will deliver a 10-minute prerecorded address via video to attendees of this year’s Truth & Liberty Conference in Woodland Park.
Christian political activist Charlie Kirk was fatally shot on Sept. 10, 2025, during an outdoor debate at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah.
The event was sponsored by Turning Point, USA, the organization Kirk co-founded in 2012 to promote conservative values at high schools and on college and university campuses.
Erika Kirk is now the CEO of Turning Point USA, which is the nation’s largest conservative student organization, according to its website.
“Erika is sending a message of gratitude for the support she has received throughout the past year, as well as encouraging individuals to continue to stand up for faith and freedom, as Charlie did,” said Drew Williams, executive director of the Truth & Liberty Coalition, which sponsors the conference.
Co-founded by televangelist and Bible teacher Andrew Wommack, the national public policy organization “educates, unifies and mobilizes” Christians to influence cultural norms toward traditional values through television and web broadcasts, meetings, conferences and written materials.
Charlie Kirk had been scheduled to speak the following day at last year’s Truth & Liberty Conference in Woodland Park, where Andrew Wommack Ministries, Charis Bible College and the Truth & Liberty Coalition are headquartered.
Instead, conference organizers held a memorial-type-of service, Williams said.
“We honored Charlie Kirk and the inspiring life he lived, prayed for his family and Turning Point USA, and encouraged believers to stand up for truth as Charlie did,” he said.
Charlie Kirk spoke in October 2024 at Wommack’s campus at another Truth & Liberty event called Freedom Night in America.
The presentation by Erika Kirk, who founded her own ministry, Biblein365, and hosts the Midweek Rise Up devotional podcast, will be shown on Thursday, the opening night of this year’s conference.
It runs Sept. 10-12 and is free and open to the public. Registration is requested at https://truthandliberty.ticketspice.com/truth-liberty-conference-2026?t=conference.
“The conference will be an informative and inspirational event, as we honor Charlie and carry on the mission of bringing America back to an understanding of our founding, our history and our Christian values,” Williams said.
A total of 12 speakers will address participants in the Charis Bible College auditorium on the campus at 800 Gospel Truth Way in Woodland Park.
Colorado Congressional Rep. Jeff Crank also will speak by video.
In addition to Wommack, other presenters include Lucas Miles, senior pastor of Nfluence Church in Indiana, president of The Nfluence Network and host of Strong Church with Lucas Miles for Turning Point USA Faith, an arm of Turning Point USA that works with pastors and churches in promoting conservative political and cultural activism.
Former Texas state Rep. Rick Green, who founded Patriot Academy and hosts WallBuilders Live!, also is in the lineup, along with other well-known names in the conservative Christian movement.
Richard Harris, another presenter, worked for about a decade as executive director of the Truth & Liberty Coalition. He resigned at the end of March to return to practicing law for a national firm specializing in defending religious freedom cases.
Williams took over as executive director on Aug. 10.
“The Truth & Liberty team is working hard to help believers know biblical truth and to stand up for godly values in our country,” he said.
Security at the event will be tight, following protocols that security personnel at Charis Bible College, deputies from the Teller County Sheriff’s Office and Woodland Park police adhere to on a regular basis to help maintain a safe environment, he said.
The faith-based organization views the murder of 31-year-old Kirk as an act of martyrdom.
“The simple definition of a martyr is one who is slain because of their faith,” Williams said. “Faith was foremost in what Charlie stood for and was antithetical to many people, including his alleged killer.”
Following a preliminary hearing in Utah’s 4th Judicial District Court on Tuesday, a judge ordered 23-year-old accused shooter Tyler Robinson to stand trial for aggravated murder. Robinson pleaded not guilty to the murder charge and six other counts.
Erika Kirk, who was in the courtroom, said publicly that forcing the man to stand trial is “an important step” toward realizing justice for her late husband.
Prosecutors have said they’ll seek the death penalty if he is convicted.
President Donald Trump posthumously awarded the Medal of Freedom to Charlie Kirk in the Rose Garden at the White House in Washington, D.C., last October.
