LGFPD hosts spaghetti dinner and auction

Lake George Fire Protection District is gearing up for their annual Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser to be held Aug. 15 and an online auction. They are in need of items and/or services to be donated for the auction.

This fundraiser is a vital component in ensuring their ability to serve the needs of the district. All items will be placed in the online auction, which will run from Aug. 2 at 8 a.m. through Aug. 17th at 8 p.m. To participate in the auction, go to https://www.32auctions.com/LGFire2026. The district is accepting items for the auction; for example, gift certificates for goods or services, specialty baskets, handmade items, etc. Please email susan@lakegeorgefire.com or call 719-748-3022 for drop off times. Monetary donations are also welcome and can be mailed to Lake George Fire, PO Box 281, Lake George, CO 80827.

This year’s proceeds will enable LGFPD to purchase a cache of BK Radios that are compatible with the U.S. Forest Service and others on large fires. They also hope to purchase new wildland shirts and pants for the volunteers and GPS Navigators for all apparatus to assist with locating fires, accidents, and persons on 911 calls. Last year, they used the funds to purchase a drone, a portable pump for refilling apparatus and a new EMS/Rescue Van.

“A dream would be a special donation for a new truck… we can dream,” said Chief Susan Bernstetter.

The Spaghetti Dinner is at 4:30 pm at Lake George Fire Station 1 located at 8951 CR 90 in Lake George. They will be serving a homemade special sauce with pasta, salad, garlic toast, cookies, and drinks. Music will be provided by David Manship.
