America’s Mountain Festival features music and Pikes Peak
Woodland Park returned to its roots on a recent Saturday, as the sounds of country Western music had people walking around with smiles on their faces. The second annual America’s Mountain Festival attracted a steady crowd of country music fans on July 11.
From the range of stylish cowboy boots and hats, the festival was also a fashion show of people who got into the mood of the city-proclaimed Western Wear Day.

“I love country music,” said Debbie Rivera, who earned her ticket by volunteering for the festival.
Connie Fuller, who lives in Colorado Springs, stopped at Target to buy a chair-umbrella get-up that did the trick for shielding her from the sun.
This year’s festival featured a Western art show in the River Room at Tava House. Renee McCoy and Ed Mills from Florissant were dressed in their cowboy finest to view the art.
With food trucks, vendors and the AMF Frontier Fun Zone, there was plenty to do that Saturday afternoon and evening.

Founded by Derek Waggoner, America’s Mountain Music Festival featured country/Western singer Aaron Watson as the headliner.
